“By Faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God has translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, [THAT HE PLEASED GOD].
But without Faith it is impossible to Please Him: For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:5, 6)

HOW TO PLEASE GOD

As I write our September Newsletter, it is June and July again and I am holding Revival Meetings all through Canada.  One of my favorite places to visit in Canada is Nova Scotia.  As you drive along the coastline through small fishing villages you see the beautiful ocean with it’s huge waves beating against the rocks, and watch the sea gulls [my wife calls them Jonathan] and the beautiful sunsets [which is Sandy’s favorite pass time].  Then you head out toward the rural areas and country side.  I weep over the blindness of the souls of wicked men.  I just don’t understand how they can see God’s beautiful Coloring Book [Creation] and not believe.

Then I thought about even in this beautiful place of vacations and pleasure…There is so much Religion but very few Gospel Preaching Churches that are a true light to those living in Spiritual Darkness.  I have been so honored to work, labor and serve with so many good faithful men of God pastoring in great Fundamental Baptist Churches who I’ve found to be Small in Size but strong in Truth and Spirit.

I was just thanking and praising the Lord for their pioneer Spirit…Then I was reminded…how it must PLEASE GOD…These Churches have been bathed in prayer and built on Faith…The Bible teaches us that without Faith it is impossible to PLEASE GOD.

Pleasing God is not what we do but something He does through us.  It’s not some wish list but the results of our Faith built on the Word of God and His beloved Son…Whom God said, when Jesus was baptized “This is My Son, In Whom I am Well Pleased.”

Can God say that about us?  With all the good intentions, desires and Christian Activity can God Say to His Children, in THESE, I am well Pleased?  So many Christians today just want to give God their leftovers, instead of their BEST…They are satisfied in just going to Heaven, instead of wanting to live their lives TO PLEASE HIM…

As Spiritual Leaders of our homes men, we should set the example of loving guiding and directing our wives and children as God guides and directs our lives.  We men set the example for our homes.  Having a wonderful devotional life and prayer life as we fellowship with God and He fellowships with us we are well pleasing to God.

Also as we go to Church as a family and Worship God and participate in its activities and remain faithful to Him, this is another way that God is well pleased with us.  God doesn’t look at our actions as much as He looks at the reason [Motivation] for our actions and why we do what we do for Him.

Folks are always trying to please God by their service and good works instead of by their love, devotion and Faith in Him. (v. 6) says, without Faith it is impossible to PLEASE GOD.  I heard folks trying to explain faith in many ways.  One of the most popular one is having faith to sit in a chair not knowing if it will hold your weight.  But, we don’t trust the Chair but the Craftsmen [Lord Jesus Christ] who built the chair.  I trust His finished work on Calvary.  Our Faith is not in our Faith but in Christ. (Romans 10:17) Faith demands action.  I must act upon the Word of God when I hear it so that when it continues to change my life it will grow my faith and I become what God said I would become.

The World puts their faith in the food that they eat instead of those who grow, process and prepare the food before they buy it.  They need to trust the process.

The same as us Christians.  We are not to put our faith and trust in the Church or in our pastor’s or other Christians because they are human and sooner or later they will fail us.  You cannot build your faith watching other Christians and leaders.  We grow our faith by applying the truths of God’s Word to our lives and we put our Faith and Trust in Him and His finished work on Calvary.  There has to come a point in our life where we start to deny self instead of denying Him.
The truth is that most Christians are walking by sight and NOT BY FAITH.  Because our Faith is built upon the sand instead of Christ the Solid Rock, a more firm foundation.
You see what folks here in Canada do not understand is that their love and devotion and faith must not be in God’s beautiful creation but in HIM…When we put our faith in Him then God says, IN THESE, I AM WELL PLEASED…

Dear Christian, today may we all examine our hearts to be sure that our Faith is in Him and Him alone and all the rest of His beauty is so that we may love Him and appreciate Him more than His beautiful Creation.

IS GOD PLEASE WITH YOU…Without Faith It Is Impossible To Please Him…

May God continue to bless your ministries, your life and relationship with Him, this is my continued prayer.
